Tiponi was a mother of three children, who died due to natural causes about a month ago. She reportedly collapsed in her apartment and was taken to a hospital. Grey was 50 years old when she suddenly passed away.
In 2016, Tiponi Grey left her job at the Church of Scientology and first got involved with the organization through a boyfriend. Tiponi revealed to Leah Remini that she felt that the religion was more like a business and had little to offer the black community as they explored the Church’s relationship with the Nation of Islam.

According to a GoFundMe set up by her daughter, she was ill for a long time and wanted to be cremated.
Her daughter Tylan Givens wrote the following in a statement on the GoFundMe page:
“My mother was a loving person, who loved the youth, life and her family.
“She was ill for a long time but that never stopped her from enjoying life and accomplishing her goals.
“She loved to dance and most of all loved Her 3 children and 6 grandchildren with all her life. She was our life, my backbone, my best friend my daughters’ father and grandma all in one.
“A part of us has left with her. We will always love her and think of all the good memories we shared together.”
