A recent Ashanti thong performance helped heat things up at New York Fashion Week. The former Murder Inc. hip-hop star rocked the stage in a tiny thong bikini.

Ashanti performs in thong bikini at Fashion Week
Singer Ashanti certainly knows how to heat up New York Fashion Week with a medley performance of her popular hits. In the video footage below, the 38-year-old singer is shown on the runway flanked by models in silky dresses or dancing on her own as she performs her music.
Ashanti wears revealing chaps, black boots, and a skin-tight top. There’s also the tiny animal print thong bikini included as part of her look.
So why was Ashanti in a tiny thong bikini at NYFW? According to Page Six, it was all part of the PrettyLittleThing x Saweetie catwalk show this past Sunday. The Pretty Little Thing Instagram showed off a number of photos from their runway show.

Ashanti hasn’t been shy about bikini pictures, so it’s not surprising to see her in such an attention-grabbing outfit at the New York event. She’s posted several photos of herself on her official Instagram showing off her bikini body.
Ashanti rose to fame as the young singer who joined Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc. back in 2002. She was known for appearing on the hit songs “What’s Luv?” by Fat Joe and “Always on Time” by Ja Rule over the years.
Her 2001 solo song “Foolish” reached No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
Ashanti also released six different studio albums between 2002 and 2014. There’s a “TBA” project slated for 2020 from the singer.
In addition to her music career, she’s held down a number of acting roles and appearances on shows. She played Dorothy in the musical “The Wiz” and has appeared as a guest judge on Ru Paul’s Drag Race series, amongst other roles.
