Studio Bones has finally officially confirmed that the Mob Psycho Season 2 release date is scheduled for 2019! Anime Mob Psycho 100 characters Kageyama Shigeo (Mob), Reigen Arataka, Dimple, Ritsu, and Teruki will soon be returning to TV screens, but the real question is whether the second season will finish off the story from the Mob Psycho 100 manga series.

Mangaka ONE is probably more famous for the One Punch Man manga series, but the Mob Psycho 100 manga series started first in 2012 and found an ending in December 2017. The ending of Mob Psycho 100 Episode 12 covered the story events up through Chapter 50 of Volume 6 of the manga.

Considering that ONE ended the manga’s story with Chapter 101, at first glance it seems very likely that Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 will adapt the remainder of the story with 13 episodes. However, the pacing may not be exactly the same since the manga chapters were not so cut and dry. ONE apparently wanted to end Mob Psycho 100 manga close to chapter 100 since several “chapters” are composed of 10 sub-chapters. Hopefully, that will mean room for Mob Psycho 100 Season 3.

This article provides everything that is known about Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors, and analysis. Meanwhile, let’s delve down into what is known for certain.

Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 Release Date: Premiere Scheduled For 2019

In July 2018, the Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 release date was officially announced to be in January of 2019, the winter anime season. The exact premiere date in Japan was scheduled for January 7, 2019. The second season includes 13 episodes, which is one more than the first season.

Back during a March 2018 event, director Yuzuru Tachikawa said that the anime studio Bones’ staff will remain the same for the second season. Crunchyroll previously streamed the first season and Funimation produced the Mob Psycho 100 English dub.

Recently, Funimation has been attempting to release so-called simuldubs where the English dub comes out the same day as the Japanese language release. Let’s hope that Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 receives the same treatment.

In the meantime, audiences desiring more Mob can watch the live-action Netflix Mob Psycho 100 TV show. It takes the story in a different direction.

For those needing a refresher on the first season, an OVA episode is currently available on Crunchyroll for streaming download. Called Mob Psycho 100 Reigen: The Miraculous Unknown Psychic, the 60-minute compilation movie retells the first season. It’s not simply a recap movie since it also provides new animation sequences based on Reigen.
