Waiting for Netflix’s Haikyuu!! Season 3 release date has anime fans impatient. After all, other streaming platforms like Crunchyroll are already streaming Haikyuu!! Season 4 (Haikyuu!! To The Top) and its related OVA episodes, so what’s the big hold up?

The answer may come down to the Haikyuu!! Season 3 English dub by Sentai FilmWorks.

Even though the high-flying volleyball anime series started in 2014, the anime episodes didn’t get a Haikyuu!! dub started until November 2017. The second season followed in 2018 and the Haikyuu!! Season 3 dub initially began releasing in late 2019.

The issue is that episodes for the Haikyuu!! dub were initially released weekly on the HIDIVE streaming platform as an exclusive. Sentai Filmworks also released the English dub as a Haikyuu!! Blu-Ray and DVD box set in the same time frames.

Flash forward and the Haikyuu!! Season 3 dub followed the same pattern. HIDIVE began streaming the dubbed episodes in November 2019 and finished in January 2020.

Sentai FilmWorks released the premium Blu-Ray box set for the dub on December 31, 2019.

Here is the official plot summary for Haikyuu!! Season 3 as described by Sentai FilmWorks:

“The Miyagi Prefecture Representative for the Spring High School National Volleyball Championship continues as the Karasuno team advances to take on the undefeated prefecture champions, Shiratorizawa Academy High School.

This is the strongest opponent Karasuno has ever faced, and the deck is stacked against them with an extra ace in the form Wakatoshi Ushijima, a powerful wing spiker who’s already played with the National Team!

If they want to win, Hinata, Kageyama and the rest of the Crows will have to learn an entirely new playing style in order to counter Ushijima and his seemingly unstoppable spike… and that’s just the first lesson the Shiratorizawa veterans have in store for the Crows.

The game is on as the players hit the court in the third pulse-pounding season of HAIKYU!!”

Animation studio Production I.G. uses a title naming convention where seasons are named after the story arcs.

For example, Haikyuu Season 3 is titled Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou vs. Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou, while Haikyuu Season 4 is called Haikyuu!! To The Top. It’s expected that the Haikyuu!! Season 5 anime will have a similar title.

This article provides everything that is known about Netflix’s Haikyuu!! Season 3 and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors, and analysis. Meanwhile, let’s delve down into what is known for certain.

Haikyuu!! Season 3 release date on Netflix U.S.

As of the last update, Netflix U.S. has not officially confirmed the Haikyuu!! Season 3 dub release date on Netflix USA.

Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.

The initial Netflix Haikyuu!! release date happened on October 1, 2019. Netflix U.S. is now streaming the first two seasons with the English dub.

The first two seasons were 25 episodes. The number of Haikyuu!! Season 3 episodes are significantly smaller at only 10 episodes.

Considering that the Haikyuu!! S3 dub has been out for quite a while, the long delay for Netflix users in the United States may be due to licensing issues. Netflix U.S. has not commented publicly on the issue.

Haikyuu!! Season 4 release date on Netflix U.S. likely to follow a similar pattern

The Haikyuu!! To The Top anime first began airing in January 2020. The fourth season will have 24 episodes in total.

Haikyuu!! Season 4 is what is called asplit-cour anime. What’s a “cour,” you might ask For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month block of TV broadcasting based on the physical seasons usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.

A “split-cour” is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting. In this case, the second half of the fourth season is releasing in July 2020.

Sentai FilmWorks has not yet announced a Haikyuu!! Season 4 English dub, but if they follow historical precedent it’ll probably release in the fall of 2020.

With the 8-ton gorilla Netflix now on the scene, it’s uncertain whether HIDIVE will initially have exclusive streaming rights to the Haikyuu!! Season 4 dub.

In the best-case scenario, Netflix anime fans will probably be waiting until 2021 for the Haikyuu!! Season 4 release date on Netflix U.S. Stay tuned!

We really need haikyuu season three on Netflix. It would be so much more accessible to watch it on Netflix, and we wouldn’t watch with annoying ads in the way. If you agree, comment!!!!
