Microsoft has announced that Zune will be the exclusive digital media sponsor of the 2008 Winter X Games. The sponsorship will give Zune a significant and visible onsite presence at the event and will also include TV, online, and print advertising.
Attendees can visit an interactive village booth where they can try out the new Zune media players and take part in special giveaways and promotions.
Zune will also create an exclusive interactive space in downtown Aspen designed to give consumers a complete Zune experience. The space will be designed around the Zune Originals concept, which gives individuals the option to customize their own Zune player with laser-engraved designs and personal text via an online store, where they can choose from a collection of laser-engraved artwork designed exclusively for Zune by 18 internationally recognized artists.
On display will be 10 customized Burton snowboards featuring Zune Originals artwork that are being created exclusively for the Winter X Games. There will also be an interactive lounge where people can receive a demonstration of the new Zune players and software, play a game of Rock Band or Guitar Hero on the Xbox 360, go online to order their own customized Zune device from http://www.zuneoriginals.net or simply just hang out with friends.
Zune’s presence will be further extended through integration into activities at the Burton/Monster house, which will serve as a venue for athlete product seeding along with photo and video opportunities.Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
