Young Love on tour with Lady Sovereign as new video hits the net

As summer turns into fall, Young Love will be finding its audiences on tour outside of New York, in advance of the January 2007 release of debut album ‘Too Young To Fight It’ on Island Records. As Young Love hit the road, the video for the new single “Discotech” is out on the Internet.

Dan Keyes, singer/songwriter, frontman and creator of Young Love, has assembled a full band and will hit the road. Young Love have currently been opening for the pint-sized red hot U.K. dynamo and fellow Island Def Jam recording artist Lady Sovereign on her first major headlining tour of North America, kicking off a 6-week, 25-city tour that closes on December 1st.

The ‘Too Young To Fight It’ debut single “Discotech” provided the first glimpse into the world of Dan Keyes this summer, a place where rock, dance and pop co-exist. “Attack! We keep it on the dance floor…Discotech,” intones the single, which can be heard in all its 4-minute glory on Young Love’s MySpace website, where it has been played more than 100,000 times.

A Texan-turned-New-Yorker, Keyes was a member of the Austin-based band Recover when he decided it was time for change. Demos and rough tracks in hand, Keyes made the move to New York City and soon realized that his unfinished songs didn’t fit in with any of his previous band’s sound.

The new tracks were danceable, unpredictable, poppy and thematic. They were, in fact, the essence of Young Love, the break that Keyes has been working toward for years, to expose the music that’s been knocking around his head all that time. “This record has been a long time coming,” he says.
