Yeah Yeah Yeahs to perform at Greek Theatre in Los Angeles

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced plans to play at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 17th at 8 p.m. with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. today (Saturday, July 25th).

The power trio formed in Brooklyn in 2000 and features Nick Zinner (guitar), Brian Chase (drums) and Karen O. (vocals). The release of their first full-length album, ‘Fever to Tell’ hit store shelves in 2003 and helped get the band’s buzz building. The album’s single “Maps” gave the group their first smash hit and earned a Grammy nomination.

‘It’s Blitz,’ the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s latest release, signals both a glance backward and a step forward for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Zinner’s vintage Arp–the same model used on records by The Cars, Joy Division, and Kraftwerk–contributes atmospheric washes (“Skeletons”), disco wiggles (“Dance till you’re dead!” Karen sings on “Heads Will Roll”), and New Wave melodrama (“Soft Shock”). The first single, “Zero,” combines all these elements to create a dance-floor anthem that sings directly to the listener.

The group is also scheduled to hit the stage on The Tonight Show w/ Conan O’Brien on September 16th.
