Sad news to report as TMZ got the word that the pretty singer from the 2011 ‘X Factor,’ singer Simone Battle from ‘GRL’ was found dead at age 25.
She was found dead Friday morning in her West Hollywood home, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said in a statement to reporters.
According to her biography on her Facebook and Wikipedia page, in August 2012, Battle was initially part of The Pussycat Dolls’ proposed new line-up after their past members disbanded in 2010. Her admission to the group was revealed during the opening of the Pussycat Dolls Dollhouse at the Keating Hotel in San Diego.
Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA Records Robin Antin later announced on February 2013 that they would continue instead as the “next generation” of the Dolls as a group called G.R.L.
Today, Antin released this statement: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L….Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing,” the statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”
TMZ reported that Simone’s death appeared to be a suicide based on their conversation with her father. They reported that she was found hanging on a rod in the closet of her bedroom around 8:30 AM on Friday.
The 25-year-old Battle was a singer in the girl group “GRL” She signed on with the group after her run on “X Factor” where she made it into the top 17 acts.
The L.A. County Cororner’s Office said that Battle’s cause of death was still undetermined.
