Tig’s mojo is back, Sons of Anarchy Oiled recap

Still reeling from events of last week’s episode.

Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is released from jail thanks to Sheriff Unser (Dayton Callie) who takes Jax’s grief into account and drops the charges for obstruction of Justice. Though charges of assault against all members of SAMCRO still stand.

Rejoining Clay (Ron Perlman) and his friends at SAMCRO, Jax continues the search for his son Abel.

Meanwhile, back in Ireland, Cameron (Jamie McShane), who kidnapped Abel has left the baby in the care of Maureen Ashby (Paula Malcomson).

At church, Cameron confesses to having murdered Half Sack, and revealed that he took Abel as an act of irrational vengeance against Gemma (Katey Sagal) who he believes killed his own son.

Cameron tells Father Kellan Ashby (James Cosmo), who is also a member of the IRA, that he’d like to plead his case to the council. The priest tells Cameron that taking Abel was a bad move and not in the best interest of the IRA and their cross-Atlantic dealings with SAMCRO.

Meanwhile, back in Charming, Unser tells Clay and the others that the guy they have in custody who was part of the attack on SAMCRO is not affiliated with the Mayans, which leads Clay, Jax and the rest to believe it was an initiation in order to facilitate a patch-over.

Gemma, who is still with her Father Nate (Hal Holbrook) gets into a conversation with his caregiver, but gets her back up a little when the "greedy Guatie" responsible for her fathers care starts to ask a few too many questions.

Jimmy O (Titus Welliver), who works with SAMCRO, tells the priest that Cameron needs to be silenced, and that he will meet with SAMCRO and sort things out.

Back at the Hospital, Tara (Maggie Siff) hands in her notice for a leave of absence much to the surprise of the administrator Margaret Murphy (McNally Sagal). Also at the Hospital, SAMCRO enlists Chucky (Michael Marisi Ornstein) and set out to break into the room of one of their attackers and find out for sure that the retaliation was part of a patch-over.

During a meeting with Jimmy O, Clay and Jax reveal that Gemma didn’t kill Cameron’s son, and Jimmy reciprocates by lying to them about the location of Cameron, and claims that he is still in North America and not in Ireland.

Clay asks Bobby (Mark Boone Junior) to go to his ex Precious to enlist her new boyfriend to help them track down Cameron. Turns out Precious, who makes Adolf Hitler look reasonable, is none-too-pleased to see Bobby and is on his case for money for the medicine and maintenance of his child.

Meanwhile, Clay along with Chibbs (Tommy Flanagan) meet up with a friendly biker gang and ask them to help find out what’s happening with the Mayans and the patch over.

Back at Charming PD, Unser meets up with Jacob Hale (Jeff Kober), who tries to enlist Unser’s help in his move toward political office, and tells Unser that the county sheriff’s office would like nothing more than to absorb Charming PD, and that if Unser were to back him for office, he’d allow Unser to handpick his successor. Unser reluctantly agrees.

Back at Nate’s place. Gemma learns that Tig (Kim Coates) is getting himself some action, and a rather humorous scene of Tig in a ridiculous dressing gown and a bottle of "lube" which was baby oil plays out.

During the hunt to find Cameron and retrieve Abel, SAMCRO help their new-found Bounty Hunting ally with a Bounty at an adult DVD store. While keeping watch in the store, Opie (Ryan Hurst) finds a video starring his girlfriend Lyla (Winter Ave Zoli), and it becomes very apparent that he is not happy with her current career path.

Still on the hunt to find out more about the patch over. Clay along with the rest of SAMCRO go to the HQ of the biker gang that is joining up with the Mayans, and abduct the charter’s president in order to force information from him.

Back in Ireland, the priest learns that Cameron’s son was working with the ATF and that FBI agent Stahl, not Gemma, was the one who murdered him.

Back at Nate’s, Tig manages to deal his phobia of Gemma’s mum Rose’s Hummel figurine collection long enough to successfully seduce Emilia, is taking care of business with his Guatamalan hottie in a bedroom and Nate overhears their sex, and confuses her with his late wife and shoots Tig in the shoulder. (Missed comedic opportunity here. It should have been the ass). A very upset Nate drives off on his own in the confusion.

Back in Charming, Clay, Jax and the rest interrogate their prisoner and learn that Alvarez (Emilio Rivera) is patching the gang over in order to help him shift drugs, which leads Clay to believe that the deal, which was brokered with Zobel (Adam Arkin) still stands. After some discussion Clay and the rest decide to leave things be and negotiate a peace with the Mayans to prevent any more blood being shed.

Meanwhile back at Nate’s, Gemma catches her father’s live-in nurse looking at her criminal record on the internet, and after a gun face-off where Gemma wins, she is given little choice but to tie Tig’s new girlfriend up in the basement to prevent her from going to the police to claim a $25,000 bounty on her head.

Back in Charming Jax tries to prevent Tara (Maggie Siff) from going to see his mother, but is called away before he can prevent her from going.

In Ireland, following Jimmy O’s orders, the priest and some of his henchmen carry out a hit on Cameron, and leave him marked as a message to all in The Strand right in the middle of a street.

Back in Charming, Jax learns that Cameron took Abel to Canada with him, and Clay promises to do all in the club’s power to help him get Abel back.

Though this episode lacked the action of the season opener, it does set up a load of story elements which are balanced out with some great character moments and the odd bits of comedy.

The comedy being Tig in that stupid gown admitting to Gemma that he’s kind of big and has to lube up because it’s the humane thing to do.

Hal Holbrook puts in a fantastic performance as a very confused Nate and his scenes with Gemma are dramatic gold.

Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
