The Who cut concert short when Daltrey walks off stage

Fans hoping to see The Who perform some of their classic hits during a show at a Tampa, Florida, amphitheater were letdown after lead singer Roger Daltrey walked off the stage during the band’s first song of the evening.

A few minutes after Daltrey’s abrupt exit, Who guitarist Pete Townshend told the crowd that the Tuesday show had now been canceled. He blamed the sudden cancellation on the singer coming down with a case of bronchitis.

Townshend told the crowd that Daltrey could barely speak and was “really, really sick.” The crowd, which was estimated to be about 9,000 people, did cheer the legendary guitarist when he told them the show would be rescheduled for March 25.
