The RBD phenomenon hits the road for a U.S. tour

Sexy pop sensation RBD is planning to hit the road again for a U.S. tour to promote first English language album, ‘Rebels.’ The group is no stranger to touring the U.S. – on their last tour they sold out some of the biggest venues in the country including New York’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum.

The 2007 tour will be more intimate settings, kicking off in El Paso, TX next month.  Their latest hit album ‘Rebels’ debuted #1 on the U.S. Latin charts and #1 in Mexico, Brazil, and Chile. The band continues to connect with their Latin fan base and hopes to draw in more fans with the English language album.

RBD is a group that originated in 2004 as part of the story of the Latin soap opera Rebelde. The group, formed by Anahi, Dulce, Maite, Alfonso, Christian and Christopher soon surpassed fiction and became a reality. Their debut album ‘Rebelde’ launched great radio hits in Mexico like “Rebelde,” “Solo Quedate en Silencio,” “Salvame,” and “Un Poco de Tu Amor.”

Not too long after the release, the album went Gold then Platinum and most recently Diamond for sales over 500,000 copies in their native country. Their first tour “Tour Generation RBD” originated a CD and a DVD featuring medleys pop/rock from the 80s and new tracks “Una Cancion” and “Liso Sensual” in addition to the songs included in the original record.

The ‘RBD Live’ album went Platinum in Mexico. Almost a year later RBD edits their second album with original songs titled “Nuestro Amor.” This album showcases the evolution of the band since its beginnings. The album features 14 tracks, among them “Nuestro Amor,” the first single that gives the album its name, and additionally: “Me Voy,” “Feliz Cumpleaños,” “Este Corazón,” “Así Soy Yo,” “Aun Hay Algo,” “A Tu Lado,” “Fuera,” “Que Fue Del Amor,” “Que Hay Detrás,” “Tras De Mi,” “Solo Para Ti,” “Una Canción,” and “Liso, Sensual.” Surprisingly, “Nuestro Amor” turned Platinum only 7 hours after going on sale in Mexico with sales of 127,000 copies.

This pop powerhouse has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, two million alone in the United States. RBD’s first single “Tu Amor” was an immediate hit; within three days of its release, the song was all over the four most-listened-to Top 40 stations in the country, among a nationwide crowd of 30 leader stations in Top 40 and Rhythmic formats.
