The Game officially charged and could receive five years in prison

Rapper The Game could be looking at five years in prison now that charges have officially been filed against him in connection with reported fight at a Los Angeles basketball game in February.

The Game was officially charged with a felony count of making a criminal threat, felony possession of a firearm in a school zone and a felony count of exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer.

In the charges filed on Monday, prosecutors alleged The Game (whose real name is Jayceon Taylor) punched a basketball player of the opposing team, pulled a gun out of his Cadillac Escalade, and threatened to shot the player – who was not named. The reported altercation took place on Feb. 24th at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department searched The Game’s suburban Glendale, California home in May for evidence in connection with the alleged fight. He was also arrested in connection with the fight, and released on $50,000 bail.

The rapper is scheduled to be arraigned today (June 5) and is facing up to five years in prison if convicted on the charges.
