The Exorcism of Emily Rose to DVD on Dec. 26

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring the haunting demonic tale of a young girl possessed to viewer’s living rooms with the release of The Exorcism of Emily Rose on Dec. 27 to special edition DVD and UMD format for the PSP in both rated and unrated versions.

The film is based on the controversial true story, and chronicles the haunting trial of a priest accused of negligent homicide when an attempted exorcism results in the death of a 19-year-old college freshman.

The movie features an all-star cast of Academy Award nominees including Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Shohreh Aghashloo, and Campbell Scott.

Movie synopsis: Emily was an average teenage girl who was the target of terrifying demonic forces that would ultimately shock a town and torment her soul. But was she, as many believed, possessed? In an attempt to clear the clergyman (Wilkinson) who exorcised Emily, a skeptical attorney (Linney) awakens to the discovery that powerful spiritual forces may exist.
