The Darkness cancel concerts as frontman Justin Hawkins enters rehab

Rockers The Darkness have canceled a series of planned concerts and confirmed that frontman Justin Hawkins has entered rehab.

Rumors about Hawkins have been swirling following announcements that the singer’s doctor had suggested Hawkins take about two weeks off from the group’s current tour. It is still not confirmed if the singer has checked into the clinic for help with a drug or alcohol addiction..

In a statement from the band members, The Darkness said the cancellation of upcoming shows does not indicate the end of the band, and that the group was still preparing for the release of their upcoming third album sometime in early 2007.
