From Monsters and Critics.com Tech News Compuware Corp., one of the most used names in Enterprise level network management, released a new version of their Vantage product line yesterday. Vantage 10 helps IT organizations manage application services from a business prospective. The new version gives the expected comprehensive monitoring and reporting but adds Java and .NET application analytics and metrics. “Application performance and availability management are important requirements for delivering application service levels that meet end-user requirements,” said Tim Grieser, VP System Management Software Research, IDC. “Compuware has demonstrated that it understands these needs by providing a comprehensive set of software to monitor and analyze application performance with the Compuware Vantage suite, which brings together infrastructure component views (client, server, network), application views, as well as transaction and end-user views." Vantage 10 includes extremely detailed information in its dashboard. If you have used this in the past, then you are already familiar with the Red and Yellow lights, which can mean the world when you attempt to track a network or service issue. The new version will add to this not only the helpful lights, but also information showing you the number of users and their locations when there is a service or network outage. You will now be able to tell and see just who and what is affected when looking at slowdowns, or outages. In addition, Vantage 10 now provides the means for IT organizations to employ business-relevant metrics to measure and manage VoIP service. The VoIP part to Vantage will detail the MOS (Mean Opinion Score) and the QoS (Quality of Service) for the VoIP network. If there is congestion, or poor quality in your calls, Vantage will let you know. The service is available and starts at around $50,000.
