Clive Owen plays Dwight in 'Sin City'

Robert Rodriguez and comic book icon Frank Miller co-directed Sin City, based on the series of graphic novels created, written, and illustrated by Miller. No actual "film" was used in the process. Digital artists under Rodriguez' direction at his Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas, used AMD64 technology-based workstations and servers running Avid's Softimage XSI software on top of Microsoft's Windows(R) XP Pro operating system to pre-visualize scenes, create and render high definition (HD) digital composites, add visual effects, edit and produce a final HD digital master. "The process used to be a linear write-shoot-edit, fix-it-in-post sequence. That's gone," said Rodriguez. "AMD64 technology gives me the power to be in the moment, to explore ideas and create at the speed of thought as we produce. It's a non-linear, organic process that allows me to tap the creative potential of the entire production team. The way we made 'Sin City' would have been impossible without the speed and reliability of AMD64 technology." A spokeperson for AMd said: "Robert Rodriguez is the rare artist who exploits new technology in a way that simultaneously satisfies his creative visions and blazes a new path for others to follow,"

Sin City stars Bruce Willis as Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love, Goldie (Jaime King), and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shelley (Brittany Murphy), who spends his nights defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Towne girls (Devon Aoki and Alexis Bledel) from Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro), a dirty cop with a penchant for violence.You can read more about Sin City, including a review, in our database.

I think a more appropriate statement would be take that Apple. Apple is losing ground fast in the graphics/rendering community thanks to AMD64's raw power and price point.
