New Olympus recorder with directional microphone or stand
Berlin (dpa) - Olympus is introducing a number of new audio recorders. New devices from the WS series will come out at the end of March with built-in directional microphones ideal for speeches or lectures. The devices are the WS-811, WS-812 and WS-813 and cost between 80 and 150 euros (103 and 195 dollars) depending on technical features. The VN-711PC, VN-712PC and VN-713PC recorders will be released in mid-February. All three are equipped with a folding stand for free-hand recordings. They will cost between 55 and 70 euros.
Second Nokia smartphone available with Windows operating system
Berlin (dpa) - Following the Lumia 800, there will be a second Nokia smartphone with Windows Phone 7. The Lumia 710 has a 1.4 GHz processor and a 3.7 inch touchscreen. The features are especially designed for users who are quite often in social networks. In addition, the phone includes fully equipped navigation software. The battery life and internal storage are somewhat less than the Lumia 800, but the Lumia 710 is less expensive at 319 euros.
First Airplay speaker from Teufel
Berlin (dpa) - Berlin-based company Teufel has built a speaker which supports the Airplay standard from Apple. Music from iPhones or computers with iTunes can be played without a direct connection to iTeufel Air. The device can also play music from other sources thanks to its built-in WiFi adapter. The integrated speaker has an output of 210 watts, 130 of which go towards the integrated subwoofer. The iTeufel Air is available now for 499 euros.
Mobile scanner with USB 3.0
Berlin (dpa) - The new mobile Canon scanner imageFORMULA P-215 supports USB 3.0, allowing for 15 pages to be scanned at 600 dpi within one minute. Thanks to the automatic document feeder, even large stacks of paper can be quickly worked through. The results can be saved in PDF, JPEG or PowerPoint format. The scanner does not need an additional power cable as it draws its power through the USB cable. The scanner is available starting in mid-January in shops for 296 euros.
Mini-projector from BenQ weighs about 500 grams
Berlin (dpa) - BenQ has come out with a miniature projector. The Joybee GP2 is only 14 millimetres wide and long and weighs 565 grams. Despite its size, it has a number of ports including connections for HDMI and USB as well as a component entry position. In addition, there is a docking station for iPods and a slot for SD cards. Pictures can be projected with a resolution of 1,280 to 800 pixels and up to 160 inches in size with the maximum brightness of 200 ANSI lumens. Two integrated speakers produce 2 watts of sound. The projector will be available at the end of February for 599 euros.
