Bang & Olufsen speaker with picnic basket look
Las Vegas, Nevada (dpa) - Luxury Danish consumer electronics maker Bang & Olufsen launched the Beolit 12, a wireless, portable speaker for iPhones, iPads, and other Apple devices and MP3 players at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The Beolit 12, which was launched under the sub-brand B&O Play, resembles a picnic basket and has a 120-watt digital amplifier system that drives two 2-inch tweeters and a 4-inch woofer. The 2.8-kilogram device comes with a full-grain leather carrying strap for easier transport as well as an internal battery that can run for four hours when using Airplay to stream music and eight hours when running through the line-in jack. The Beolit 12 will be available from the end of January for 699 euros (886 dollars).
Flexible mix between notebook and tablet
Las Vegas (dpa) - The Lenovo IdeaPad YOGA is a new innovation on the convertible tablet concept. Although it resembles a 13-inch HD-screen Ultrabook, its unique hinge system means it also folds over to create a tablet. The device weighs around 1.5kg, will run on Windows 8 and have a Core i7 processor and a solid-state drive. It remains unclear what price the IdeaPad YOGA will retail at and when exactly it will make it to the marketplace.
Hercules unveils new webcam with flexible silicon base
Las Vegas (dpa) - The new Hercules HD Twist series of webcams comes in a range of colours and thanks to a flexible silicon base can adapt to any computer screen or desktop. The small 2.4 x 3.6 cm webcam boasts HD 720p video quality and is available in a rainbow of colours from the end of March for around 30 euros.
New LG 3D monitors with IPS panel
Las Vegas (dpa) - LG presented a range of new IPS LCD monitors and televisions at the CES, which the company says will offer better picture quality and broader viewing angles than normally associated with IPS panels. The new models will be available later in 2012 and include the LG DM92 with a 27-inch screen and chrome base, as well as the 23-inch DM82 which has two built-in seven-watt speakers. LG is focusing on large smart televisions with internet capability, such as the 55-inch model with high-contrast OLED display. The largest model is the 84-inch 3D UD TV.
