iPhone 4S: same design, more performance
Berlin (dpa) - It has a faster chip and a much improved camera but the new iPhone 4S from Apple looks just like its predecessor model. The heart of the smartphone is the A5 chip with two cores. According to the company, it provides twice as much processor performance and up to seven times faster graphics than the iPhone 4.
Apple says the battery life has been extended with up to eight hours of speaking time in UMTS operations. Another addition is the software assistant Siri which can understand questions such as 'Do I need an umbrella?' or 'How is the traffic here?'
The camera has an 8 megapixel sensor, meaning 60 per cent more pixels than on the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S can record videos in full HD resolution with 1080p and is equipped with a stabilization function to remove unwanted motion. Apple has also expanded the internal storage capacity with the iPhone 4S being offered with 16, 32 und 64 Gigabytes. The phone is on sale now for 629 euro (873 dollars).
