Speakers in Angry Birds design
Berlin (dpa) - The Angry Birds craze is nowhere near an end and now Gear4 have come up with speakers designed after the famous birds and pigs seen in the mobile phone game. The speakers feature a 3.5-mm jack for use with all music players and they aren't exactly cheap. The red bird with a tray for smartphones, tablets or music players costs 70 euros (94 dollars). The black bird or helmeted pig each cost 90 euros and have docking stations for iPods, iPhones or iPads.
Western Digital with network storage apps
Berlin (dpa) - Western Digital has launched two new apps for access to network hard drives for the MyBook Live series. With the program WD 2go, users can access files saved at home. The WD 2go Pro App, which costs 2.99 euros, allows copies of the files to be made on the mobile devices, synching your files and sharing your content with other users - for example, through email or link. Both apps are available for Android and iPhone.
Headsets for loud areas and athletes
Berlin (dpa) - Jabra are offering two new Bluetooth headsets. The 18-gram Mono-Headset Supreme features Active Noise Cancellation technology and can switch between two parallel calls. Calls can be started by voice command. And for in-coming calls, the Supreme, which comes with an in-car charger, announces the name of the caller - depending on the mobile phone. The headset can be used for up to six hours. With the stereo headset Jabra Sport, soft gel pads help keep the speakers in the ear when moving. In addition to a microphone during calls, the headset also is integrated with a UKW radio and control buttons. The battery is supposed to last up to 4.5 hours during use. Both headsets cost 100 euros each.
Parrot hands-free kit manages two phones
Berlin (dpa) - Parrot's new portable hands-free system Minikit+ can simultaneously manage two Bluetooth mobile phones. The user defines a main telephone and the system associates different rings for each of them. For incoming calls, the driver need only say the words 'accept' or 'reject' to take or reject a call. If the caller is present in the mobile's phonebook, the name will be announced beforehand. Users can also manage emails and text messages. To make calls, the driver need just say the name of the contact and Parrot Minikit+ will dial the number automatically. The Minikit+ is due in stores in November for 69 euros.
