Samsung releases a compact camera with 3D function
Berlin (dpa) - Samsung has released a compact camera with 3D capabilities. The panorama function of the Travelzoom WB750 reportedly delivers spacious 3D views and artificial depth in pictures, according to the company. The image sensor has 12.5 megapixels and includes a 24-millimetre wide angle and an 18X optic zoom. HD video recording is also possible. The camera goes on sale this month for 249 euros (340 dollars).
Waterproof MP3 player designed for sports
Berlin (dpa) - Grundig has added a waterproof MP3 player designed for outdoor use to its lineup. The MPaxx 928 Hydrox offers 2 gigabytes of storage room for music, playing titles in MP3, WMA and Wave formats, the company reported. The headphones included are also watertight.
New LED TV from Haier
Berlin (dpa) - Steadily flowing images are the name of the game with Haier's new HD TV. The company reports that its A500 series has an image frequency of 100 hertz, while the A700 series reaches 200 hertz. Both models are internet ready and claim low energy consumption. They are expected to go on sale in 2012. The A500 will be available in 32-inch and 42-inch versions, while the A700 will have a 15-millimetre-wide frame in 32 and 48 inches.
New tablet computer for reading e-books
Berlin (dpa) - A tablet computer designed for reading e-books is the latest from PocketBook. Its A10 includes a 10-inch TFT touch display and runs with the Android operating system, reported the company. Weighing in at 670 grams, it comes with wi-fi, Bluetooth and optional 3G. The pre-installed library includes up to 1,000 books. The tablet PC goes on sale in November and should cost less than 300 euros (410 dollars).
Internet box lets television go online
Berlin (dpa) - A new internet box from Toshiba connects regular televisions to the internet. The Store TV Pro is connected to the television via HDMI cable, turning it into a smart TV, reports the company. The box's remote control has a keyboard for entering destination websites, but also standard control buttons. It is expected to go on sale this year.
Control iPad games with a joystick
Berlin (dpa) - It should soon be easier to more directly and precisely control games on an iPad, thanks to a new joystick from Logitech that works with the iPad and iPad2. It connects with suction cups to a corner of the tablet, allowing control with crosshairs that appear on the screen. Springs help it to always return to the starting position. It is expected to go on sale in mid-September, for 15 euros (21 dollars).
Senior-friendly mobile includes satellite navigation
Berlin (dpa) - A new mobile phone for older people includes a location service. Austrian developer Bea-fon says its S250 should be especially easy to use and understand. The device is expected to go on sale next year for 200 euros (274 dollars).
