3D Monitor with HDMI 1.4 from Acer
Berlin (dpa) - Want to hook up 3D playback devices like receivers, recorders, cameras and gaming consoles to a PC, directly and without a complicated detour? Acer says it's possible with its new 3D monitor, the GN245HQ. The 24-inch screen supports HDMI 1.4, the latest connection standard. The price tag includes 3D glasses from Nvidia. The display offers 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (full HD). The model also boasts a response time of 2 milliseconds and a contrast ratio of 100 million to 1.
Cordless telephone in 60s design
Berlin (dpa) - Sagemcom is presenting a new DECT telephone with a 60s look. The Grundig Sixty is available in orange or black, including rotary dial and classic ring. Behind the old-school façade, though, hides a modern cordless telephone with speaker-phone and an integrated answering machine. The designer telephone will be available in late March for around 90 dollars.
Triangular speaker to fit in corners
Berlin (dpa) - Don't lose any space: A new set of speakers from Denmark are shaped like a triangle to fit better into corners. The C5 speakers from Cornered Audio include brackets for hooks or screws. The standard cable is also triangular to help make the installation even less obtrusive. The speakers are available in black, white or silver and will cost 800 dollars per pair.
New Toshiba laptops in all price classes
Berlin (dpa) - Toshiba is refreshing several of its laptop series with new devices. All of the models are 15.6 inches in size and run on Windows 7. The major differences come in price and features. The Tecra S11 for 1,599 dollars offers processing power, with an Intel Core i7 640M processor and the entry-level NVS 2100M graphics card from Nvidia. The new Satellite Pro L650 with Intel Core i5-480M costs 829 dollars. There's also a 17.3 inch version for 899 dollars. On the lower end of the price scale is the Satellite Pro C660 with an Intel Core i3 380M for 599 dollars, and a version of the C660 is available without operating system for 399 dollars.
Powerful subwoofer satellite system
Berlin (dpa) - New computer speakers from Altec Lansing: The VS2721 satellite system consists of two wide-range speakers and one subwoofer that can achieve up to 93 decibels of sound. Volume, highs and lows are controlled using a wired remote. An additional 3.5 millimetre jack makes it possible to connect other audio devices such as MP3 players or smartphones. The loudspeaker system will be available starting in March for around 60 dollars.
New ICQ version with Facebook integration
Berlin (dpa) - The ICQ instant messaging program is now available with better social networking integration. Users can update to version 7.4 in the ICQ window to allow push information about new messages on Facebook, Twitter or Youtube, or to talk with Facebook chat partners directly. ICQ's programmers also promise expanded search functionality, easier controls and more convenient access to Chat logs. The update is already available.
