It’s been a good year for Apple Inc. In fact, it’s been an extremely good year. More pointedly, the release of various trendy tech device have further bolstered the California-based company’s image as a leader in ‘must have’ products – to the point where the almighty iPhone has transcended the pull of God himself.

Of course, that’s only the case in terms of search engine queries placed throughout 2007, which have seen the touch-screen iPhone rocket to the top of the "Fastest Rising" chart on Google’s "2007 Year-End Zeitgeist" listing.
With the iPhone firmly placed at the top of the year’s most popular Google searches, it was followed by various other tech-related entries including social networking services Badoo (2) and Facebook (3), video-sharing Web site YouTube (6), instant messaging service eBuddy (7), and Linden Lab’s popular virtual online world Second Life (8).
The 2007 search, which was compiled by studying the aggregation of billions of searches executed by users of the Google search engine, also revealed the iPhone to be the fastest rising search placed in the US, while it also made number six on Google’s global list of news searches.
In Google’s 2007 chart listings for the ‘Who is,’ ‘What is,’ and ‘How to’ categories, ‘who is God’ came top, while ‘what is love’ and ‘how to kiss’ topped their respective lists. Clearly not everyone is fully clued up on today’s technological advances, however, with ‘what is rss,’ ‘what is bluetooth,’ and ‘what is java’ all making into the top ten queries. Worryingly, ‘how to hack’ also placed fourth in the ‘How to’ chart.
As 2007’s top searches take the Google limelight, the "Fastest Falling" tech searches featured originally in 2006’s "Fastest Rising" list include Kazaa, and MP3.
