US voice and data network provider Verizon Wireless and handset specialist Palm Inc. have today revealed the new Palm Treo 755p deep blue-green smartphone device. The Treo 755p is available for purchase immediately and is also scheduled to hit Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on January 07 of 2008.

According to Palm, the Treo 755p arrives with a sleeker aesthetic design than its 700p predecessor and also includes an internal antenna and a "soft-touch" tactile effect too. Features and functions related to the Treo 755p include a large, high-resolution colour display screen, which comes with touch sensitivity for quick stylus access to applications.
The Treo 755p also offers the Palm OS (operating system) working on the EV-DO network, and a full in-built QWERTY keyboard for quick and easy Web browsing, e-mail dispatch, and text-based messaging.
Those looking to snap photos with relative ease can enjoy the smartphone’s onboard 1.3 megapixel camera, while mobile professionals get access to useful applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe’s PDF document format. The handset also contains 60MB of user-available memory, which is upgradeable to 4GB with the use of a MiniSD memory card.
Furthering the Treo 755p’s business usage, the new handset also delivers VersaMail 3.5.45 with built-in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support for Microsoft Direct Push Technology to provide e-mail and calendar updates from home or the office via PC (Outlook).
Users can also gain swift access to personal or corporate e-mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks from home or the office through Verizon Wireless’ Wireless Sync. Up to 10 POP3 or IMAP e-mail accounts can be synched to the Treo 755p while Wireless Sync also provides support for Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Notes and IBM Lotus Domino.
And, finally, the Treo 755p comes equipped – as standard – with the popular Google Maps tool, which provides users with travel directions while also performing local searches throughout viewable, moveable, and scaleable maps, satellite images, and traffic updates.
Sadly, 755p is not the GBP cost of Palm’s latest Treo, with it hitting retail for $399.99 USD, following a $50 USD mail-in rebate and a customer commitment to a two-tear usage contract. Those customers opting for a "qualified voice plan along with a data plan" could also be eligible for a further $100 USD of credit, which would bring the Treo 755p down to a more pocket-friendly $299.99 USD.
