First: Lori Drew is a psychopath. If it had been an adult male who had carried on an online relationship with an under-aged girl, he'd be in jail as a pedophile.

Second, there ARE laws on the books that cover this. That they choose not to use the laws in place is curious. That they might be federal laws is not a good reason to not pursue this case.

Lori Drew supposedly does not feel guilty because Megan was KNOWN to be suicidal in the past. Well that fact doesn't absolve Lori Drew, it makes it even WORSE---because it means she KNEW about and USED that fact to push her toward suicide.

The fact that she told Megan that the world would be a better place without her (while knowing Megan to be suicidal) is proof enough to any thinking person that she had a desire (self-acknowledged or not) to see Megan go over that edge. And that's exactly what happened.

Lori Drew incited Megan's suicide in the same way that Charles Manson incited those people to commit murder. That Manson incited it was the entire premise upon which he was tried and convicted.

It is much the same here. Try her.

If the legal authorities in that city don't know how to look up laws, in this day and age of the internet, then---well I can't explain why the authorities would be so goofy in this case.

Lori Drew needs to do some serious jail time. The woman knew about Megan's emotional state. The whole thing is horrible.

I completely agree that this woman needs to do some serious time in jail. This woman is an adult who should know better. It also makes me wonder if her children shouldn't be taken from her. What example does this set for them and if she would stoop this low and destroy a child's self esteem, she shouldn't be allowed to be around any children...including her own.
This is a sad, horrible story and the woman obviously has issues. What adult would ever find gratification in destroying a child's self image!
This woman should be away from her children for a long, long time. The family of the girl who took her life, won't be able to be with their child...will they.
I find it horrifying that an adult would be this imature. However, I have a teenage son and I have seen other parents acting irresponsible as well. It's frightening. No wonder so many of our kids are messed up.

To Hypatia, I agree with what you said, but you're wrong that Megan was suicidal. Her mother has said she suffered with depression since the 3rd grade, but never attempted suicide before. Apparently at Megan's funeral, from what I've read, Lori Drew...the most hated women in America at this time, said that someone told her Megan had attempted suicide before but Tina Meier said that wasn't true.
I live in St. Charles and I'm just outraged that this 48 year old 'adult' could be so cruel to a 13 year old CHILD! I think DFS should be looking into the home life of the Drew children. What kind of mother teaches this to her child?!?!
It breaks my heart for the Meier family. I hope and pray that Lori, Curt and Sarah Drew and Ashley Grills get everything coming to them. Karma!!!!!

I think its interesting how some of the news outlets were refusing to print Lori Drew's name, even though she'd already confessed and tried to shrug it off as unimportant, despite Meier's suicide. Now that she's under inditement, she HAVE to print it. Hahaha.. ƒuckers
