According to Finland-based Nokia Corp., the new N82 handset offers not only optimised photography features but also navigation and Internet connectivity too. Specifically, the N82 enables users to explore their surroundings and find their way with the handset’s navigation and routing function, while also documenting their "adventures" with high-quality imaging capabilities. Once done, users can then share those captured moments with one-click uploads to the Internet.
The N82, which Nokia likens in some ways to its N95 smartphone, comes complete with A-GPS (and pre-installed Nokia Maps), a 5.0 megapixel camera, Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics and Internet connectivity, while also incorporating a number of features commonly seen across Nokia’s popular Nseries of handsets. Other features and functions include a high-resolution display, a 2GB microSD memory card, high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, Web browsing, videogame playing, online chat, and also music and multimedia interaction.
"With the Nokia N82 we have reached such a superior level in image quality, speed and ease of use that not only does it outperform any other camera phone on the market, but it’s also a very credible alternative for single purpose digital still cameras," enthuses Satu Ehrnrooth, head of Nokia Nseries Cameras Category, Multimedia, at Nokia Corp., "the Nokia N82 is all you need in your pocket!"
Details related to the 5.0 megapixel camera deliver "remarkably vivid photographs, even in low-light conditions" along with fast camera activation, autofocus, dedicated autofocus lamp, quick reloading between shots, and DVD-like quality video capture.
"The Nokia N82 gives the best ever camera and navigation experience in one stylish premium device," continues Ehrnrooth. "Just imagine what kind of possibilities this will open up and how much richer your every day life experiences can be! The sophisticated design and glossy looks appeal to men and women who are conscious of their style and want to impress with the latest in technology."
Supporting the Ovi family of Nokia Internet services, which includes Nokia Music Store, N-Gage videogames, and Nokia Maps, the N82 also boasts the new content-driven 3D multimedia menu and includes a handy orientation sensor that rotates the on-screen interface between horizontal and portrait modes.
Available now in key markets, the Nokia N82 is priced at approximately 450 Euros – before taxes and subsidies.
