Seemingly not content with the trio of new mobile phones it pushed into the media spotlight at the beginning of this week, Korean electronics titan Samsung Mobile has now motioned UK-based attentions over to three newly announced entrants to its smartphone range.

More pointedly, Samsung Mobile is adding the Samsung i550, Samsung i560, and Samsung i780 to its product line-up in the United Kingdom, which, while not wholly new (they’ve already been launched in certain other regions), will further bolster the company’s precense in the smartphone arena.
Described as design-inspired ultra smart mobile devices, Seoul-based Samsung is hoping that its latest array of smartphones can provide UK consumers with the ultimate in advanced mobile communications and convergence, both at work and at play.
The three smartphone arrivals offer up the following features:
Samsung i550
Announced as a "true multimedia device," and the smartphone of choice for "the truly mobile individual," the HSDPA i550 is equipped with Symbian S60, a 2.6-inch full colour display screen, and 128MB of RAM. It also boasts other functions such as the S60 Web browser, trackball navigation, a 3.0 megapixel camera and video recorder, and S-GPS/A-GPS navigation.
The Samsung i550 will arrive on O2 in the first quarter of 2008.
Samsung i560
Designed to help users "stand out in a crowd," the slider-equipped HSDPA i560 also comes complete with Symbian S60 and marries cutting-edge technology alongside elegant aesthetics. Much like the i550, the i560 offers high-speed Internet access and also delivers content management, a 2.4-inch full colour display screen, a 3.0 megapixel camera (with flash function), FM radio, and GPS navigation capabilities.
The Samsung i560 will arrive on Vodafone in November of 2007.
Samsung i780
The Samsung i780 is described as "the ultimate ultra-slim smartphone designed for the on-the-go busy professional," and it certainly looks the part regarding its smart and stylish design, and its skinny 12.8mm thickness. Unlike the i550 and i560, the new HSDPA i780 comes complete with Windows Pocket PC and also delivers Wi-Fi connectivity, a 2.55-inch full colour display screen, and GPS navigation. It also offers up an optical mouse, Google, IM, and VoIP applications, a 2.0 megapixel camera, and RSS/Podcast facilities.
The Samsung i780 will arrive on Orange in November of 2007.
