Given the amount of tosh the media industry turns out, the over inflated self importance of film stars + musicians, and the stupidly high costs of films & music, is it any wonder that the technically astute keep their cash in their pockets and download instead.
It may be copyright theft, but the entire world is being ripped off by the media giants. When was the last time they offered a refund for a DVD that you paid for, and on viewing, found was utterly rubbish (I bet we've all had a few of those).

Heh, consumers aside, they don't even look after medium to smaller artists that well. There would not be so many cruddy startup studios and labels if there was not a market for it. Big media hurts everyone but the wealthy controlling it.

While I can see the bad in pirating, I can also read MediaDefenders emails. :D

Many of them stating that companies such as BayTSP have a lot of false hits snagging innocent people with C&D letters, that MediaDefender abuses Tor for commercial purposes, that the New York Attorney General is outsourcing to non-law enforcement entities for at least some child pornography cases, that MediaDefender had plans to entrap users uploading possibly copyrighted media, and plans to use spyware to help them combat p2p using YOUR PC's resources.

I wonder what the other anti-p2p companies are involved in, and how many more laws they and the Media Industry feel like twisting or trampling just to protect their horrendous profits off other peoples work.

You know what, Big Media pays my salary, and several million others where I live.

Big Media also creates many movies loved the world over.

If their product really is drek, why steal it at all?

Bunch of excuses from slimy, immoral thieves. How about I come to where you work, and steal YOUR salary?
