'The attackers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the e-mail looks almost exactly like the real complaint letters sent out.'

And one look at the header information, one would be able to determine that the IP address which originated the email would likely reveal a spammer's zombie.

It is too bad that these business folk didn't become more suspicious since the BBB is likely to send legit correspondence via regular postal service.
