On Tuesday, May 8, 2007, Microsoft is planning to release seven critical security related patches and seven non-critical non-security related patches. The advance notice form the company said on Wednesday.
Microsoft said they would release two Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows, three Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Office, one Microsoft Security Bulletin affecting Microsoft Exchange, and one Microsoft Security Bulletin affecting CAPICOM and BizTalk. Each of those updates are security related in nature and are rated as Critical the company said.
Microsoft also said they would release one non-security High-Priority update for Windows on Windows Update (WU) and six non-security High-Priority Updates on Microsoft Update (MU). There were not details given as to the nature of these updates.
As it is with other updates released by Microsoft, there is no exact listing of what is patched and why. The details will come on Tuesday after they are released to the public. “At this time no additional information on these bulletins such as details regarding severity or details regarding the vulnerability will be made available until 8 May 2007,” Microsoft said. Companies and users who use the automatic update feature will get these updates depending on their settings.
