'Apple has sold its 100 millionth iPod, it said Monday, making the iPod the fastest selling music player in history.'
Well, it's certainly the largest selling, but not necessarily the fastest selling. The number of units sold doesn't always correlate to speed of sales - you can have a high derivative even if the magnitude is low.
I'd also like to point out while it's probably the most popular right now, it's definitely not the best. I have a Nano, and it's great, but I've seen what you can do with some of the Zen and Archos players and their functionality completely outclasses that of the iPod. I personally think this is another of those situations where Apple releases something pretty good that brings about a craze, but eventually gets outsold by superior competitors (which is not to say that I don't support the use of Apple products; they definitely have some pretty major bonuses to them)...so yeah.
it began as one then then before we could blink there where 100 million within weeks cities where swamped! within months nations! fell and a new world order began , thankfully all their batteries failed and everthing was back to normal in 2 years
