Im from Glasgow but most reported thefts aren't actually thefts- they're just made up to claim the insurance. I personally know about three people who've did this after losing it on a night out or leaving it somewhere.

Depends on wether they are checking the details of lost phones or stolen phones or combining both together and assuming theft. I personally work for an SP and recieve at least 3 or 4 calls a night regarding to lost/stolen handsets and/or claiming on the insurance
