Love your site but I am sure that is not the correct spelling of minuscule.
www.dictionary.com
Miniscule.
That is the correct spelling of miniscule. I looked it up on the internet, since I was already on my computer and I didn't want to look foolish.
Yes it is...
min·is·cule(mn-skyl)
adj.
Variant of minuscule.
min·us·cule(mn-skyl, m-nskyl) also min·is·cule (mn-skyl)
adj.
1. Very small; tiny. See Synonyms at small.
2. Of, relating to, or written in miniscule.
n.
1. A small cursive script developed from uncial between the seventh and ninth centuries and used in medieval manuscripts.
2. A letter written in minuscule.
3. A lowercase letter.
'Miniscule' and 'minuscule' are both correct. Minuscule is far less common, though, but 'minuscule' is used in French, which may be why you thought 'miniscule' is wrong.
Anyway, what happened to mentioning Gmail Paper Archives? That was also a funny April Fool's thing yesterday. Nobody noticed that??
Yeah, I did notice that. I was looking all over for the paper archives and actually gave up thinking it was in fact an April fool's joke...
there were a ton of fools stories on local online mag, onmilwaukee.com yesterday. some were rather funny
Any truth to the rumor about Google merging with Roto-Router
I did noticed that! the Gmail's paper archive button! I thought Google has gone nuts but yeah its was a nice trick indeed!
Here is a quote from the Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary:
'Minuscule, from Latin minus meaning 'less,' has frequently come to be spelled miniscule, perhaps under the influence of the prefix mini- in the sense 'of a small size.' Although this newer spelling is criticized by many, it occurs with such frequency in edited writing that some consider it a variant spelling rather than a misspelling.'
Another web-joke yesterday, was the widely used Facebook.com said that they would deploy a real person to physically 'poke' someone in your 'friend network.'
This came from the figurative 'poke,' which is normally used on facebook.com.
Of course, users were limited to 100 real-pokes.
I already cancelled my $39.99 cable account! I am filing a lawsuit against Google and the local utilities company.
If Google's new internet connection uses sewer lines, then Tech Support will involve plumbing. The hourly rate of the Geek Squad will be $60 an hour...
I had a friend buy into the paper archive prank by claiming that the back of all the pages had sponsored links printed on them.
The abbreviation for grams is g.
Haha! My boss at work was almost 90% believing Googles TiSP that was fun!
