Everyone has one or wants one. Those little USB drives are all over the place. No IT department is complete unless someone on staff has one. Found on a keychain, inside a pocket or if you are brave, hung from an earring. Flash drives, those small sticks of memory that are used to store information on the go just got a facelift and some color.
These new USB drives come in various colors Red for 512MB size, light blue for the 1024MB size, and coming in February light purple for the 2048MB version. Kingston also announced that each of these new “micro drives” would come with Migo. Migo, first seen with Kingston’s Data Traveler II in 2005, synchronizes data, keeping various versions of documents and files current, and leaves nothing behind on the system.
With a price point of $15.00 to $42.00, these affordable devices are quite handy. Often they are used to hold simple data like a resume or some photos. However, with advances in technology and the increasing size of the storage they offer, USB drives are becoming useful tools.
