Surfs up for various musicians and celebrities on June 10th

Members of  Incubus, Porno for Pyros, and Switchfoot will join with other celebrities (including Oscar nominated actress Minnie Driver) at the 2nd annual Surfrider Foundation Celebrity Surf Jam at Orange County’s Huntington Beach Pier from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10th. Admission is free for the public.

The event unites stars from music and film with the some of the biggest names in professional surfing in support of Surfrider Foundation activists from across the country. It also helps raise awareness and support for beach and coastal environments by participating in this unique contest event in the waters off Huntington Beach.

The event is again being chaired by X-Games commentator and star of E! Television’s Daily 10, Sal Masekela. Musicians scheduled to be at the competition include co-chair Brandon Boyd and fellow Incubus members Mike Einziger and Ben Kenney, Porno For Pyros member Peter DiStefano, Switchfoot bassist Tim Foreman.

Minnie Driver will join other film and television stars including Brandon Cruz (Courtship of Eddie’s Father), and Baywatch alumni and star of the N Network’s upcoming show Beyond The Break, David Chokachi – along with fellow cast member Ross Thomas.

“My friends and I have grown up surfing in California and we try to do everything we can to preserve the beaches and oceans that have afforded us the opportunity to surf,” Boyd said in a press release. “Through our band, Incubus, we’ve been lucky enough to raise funds to donate to The Surfrider Foundation in the past. Celebrity Surf Jam is just one more way I can help raise awareness for need to protect our coastal environments.”
