Incredible - Zidane is the perpetrator of VIOLENCE and wins the 'best player' award, and Materazzi, the one who was on the receiving end, is the one who has to defend himself. Zidane is a big baby, and most of the press is falling for it. Can you imagine Joe Frazier complaining that Muhammad Ali, not only 'the Greatest' boxer but also the greatest trash talker, said some bad things to him during a fight? The truth is that not only is Zidane stupid and selfish for having cost French the WC, he is a coward, because he thought he could get away with the head butt (the ball and ref were far away, and he was shocked when the ref came by - even Materazzi was caught off guard). I also like his mother, whose 'honor' he is defending, saying that she wants Materazzo's 'balls on a platter'. How nice.

are you for real, fool?
in a perfect world two players would resolve any issue with sportsmanship. sadly, we live in a world in which insulting, diving, spitting and nipple twisting are all part of this sport baggage. yet that doesn't seem to bother you. i wonder why.

I see you didn't include ... HEAD-BUTTING ... in response to words. And for this, he cost his team mates and the entire country the World Cup.

Who's the fool? I can identify at least two. Idiot.

Well done to Materazzi for his good show, Italy is true CHAMPION

Below are good remark in which FIFA are not doing their Job - Shame on FIFA in the name of FOOTBALL.

Materazzi's agent Claudio Vigorelli said.

Materazzi cited an example from Euro 2004 where Italy captain Francesco Totti was sent off and banned for three games for spitting at Danish player Christian Poulsen.

'I wonder why FIFA didn't open up a case against Poulsen two years ago in the European Championships in Portugal after the reaction of Totti.

'Totti was banned for four games, which was reduced to three, and nothing happened to Poulsen - this is absolutely a similar case,' he said.

Matarrazzi is a notorious thug and needs to have some reprocussions for his actions aswell.
ZIdane has had his punishment, but Matarrazzi gets off scott free??
MM is a liar and a dirty player, who had this verbal attack planned before the game evn started.
ZZ just had an emotional reaction (which deserved the red card),but a least he did not go into this match with the idea to hurt someone.

those italians are dirt cheap players. they can only win by cheating Australia for example. they dont have the skill or tallent to win a top game. If i was zidane i would have punched him in the face and kicked him in the nuts.
