The way I see it, the dumb-ass ref was just too freakin' lazy to allow the match to go into extra-time! Crucial decisions should be made after studying video replays like in rugby matches. Sepp Blatter should be red-carded from FIFA. AUS was robbed of the game by the ref - bloody Europhile!
The referee took the easy option on a 50/50 call, knowing it was the last 20 seconds of the match, because he did not want the game to go on for another half hour. Lazy. But, why did the Australian player throw himself like that in front of an Italian, knowing that the Italians are good at diving? Stupid.
this website is biased in favour of australia and a typical anglosaxon attitude towards non anglos, P.S. England team is most over rated team in the world, best regards to you all.
the dumb referee made an unforgettable mistake ,we all got got stressed australia played good ,it was unfair that it went out of the world cup ,it s still the first time anyway ;GO AUSSIE GO !!!
To Australia this world cup is no different to the olympics where for a few weeks every 4 years we get excited about a whole lot of obscure sports that we couldn't care less about the rest of the time.
This world cup might have distracted us for a few weeks but it has also reminded us of just how un-australian soccer is as a sport. Aussies don't like watching teensy little nancy boys dancing around a field, throwing themselves on the ground to milk penalties and dealing with constant interjections by the incompetent referee (who decides the outcome of the game).
My guess is Australian people can probably stomach that for approximately 4 weeks every 4 years.
Freddie you're a pratt, the Australian team is very mutli-cultural just take a look at the team roster. Half of the players have duel nationality and had the CHOICE of playing for Australia or for Croatia, Italy, Grece and the list goes on. If you had seen the crowds that were out watching the big screens in Melbourne and Sydney you would have seen a lot of people wearing shirts that were half Italian and half Australian. The objections have NOTHING to do with losing to Italy is had to do with losing on a questionable call. It is hard to accept that with a different ref they might have won.
Bwahahahahahahahah!
*wipes tears from eyes*
