Leipzig - 'Where have so many of your fans come from', asks an Argentine, standing in the middle of a sea of green. Roberto, his new Mexican friend doesn't answer at first. But you can see he is proud and excited to see so many of his fellow countrymen.
'How did so many people get so much money to travel here?' continues the Argentine. And now Roberto responds: 'We are fanatical about football in Mexico. I have done nothing more than save for the last two years.
'I am 25 and since my 23rd birthday I have hardly gone out to dance or drink tequila. Everything to save for the World Cup, everything for Mexico. Apparently there are about 45,000 of us here and most of us have scrimped and saved to get here.'
But two-and-a-half-hours later Argentina have knocked Mexico out of the World Cup and it's the end of the road of for the biggest group of non-European supporters at the tournament.
But there is another tournament on the horizon, and soon it will be time for Roberto and his friends to cut down on the tequila again and start saving for South Africa 2010.
