Sweden still hopes Ibrahimovic can play against England
Jun 19, 2006, 17:48 GMT
Stockholm/Bremen, Germany - Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was training Monday with the Swedish squad, coach Lars Lagerback said.
The 24-year-old forward was substituted after the first half against Paraguay after picking up a groin strain.
'You will have to wait until tomorrow to see if he plays,' Lagerback told reporters, adding that the rest of the squad were healthy.
Sweden needs at least one point to be sure of making it to the knockout stages. A win over England would mean that Sweden would finish top of the group.
Lagerback disclosed that the Swedish bench would receive live reports from observers from the other group B match between Paraguay and Trinidad and Tobago played at the same time.
'The outcome of that match could affect the coaching during the England game,' Lagerback said.
