Ronaldo shakes off mystery sickness

Koenigstein - Brazil star Ronaldo has shaken off the dizzy spell which caused officials to rush him to a Frankfurt hospital for checks and he says he will be fit to play against Australia on Sunday. 'I'm fine, it had nothing to do with what I had in 1998,' the Real Madrid striker told reporters Thursday. He went sick just before the 1998 World Cup final and was non-existent as the French won 3-0. 'The hospital checks found nothing,' he said. Ronaldo, back in training on Thursday, denied he had been unwell during Brazil's 1-0 opening win over Croatia when he looked below par. But he admitted he had been disappointed by his performance. 'I was not happy with the way I played but it was more important we won our first game and I know we can all play better,' he added. 'I'm my worst critic, I know I have to work hard but I hope to play better on Sunday.' Ronaldo, twice former FIFA Player of the Year, has had a disappointing injury-plagued season for Real. He is two goals short of equalling German Gerd Mueller's World Cup record total of 14 goals.
