Loss to Turkey shows Saudis not yet in World Cup form

Offenbach, Germany - Saudi Arabia seem out of form coming into this summer's World Cup after deservedly going down 1-0 to Turkey in Offenbach Wednesday. Only around 10,000 fans, mostly Turks, turned up for the game which was decided by a fine solo goal from Necati Ates on 67 minutes for Turkey to register their third win in four games against the Saudis. Saudi Arabia coach Paqueta rested star player Sami Al-Jaber for much of a match Turkey completely dominated and didn't play first- choice goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Deayea at all. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
