Indianapolis, IN - Tamika Whitmore scored 10 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, as the Indiana Fever downed the Detroit Shock, 72-66, on Sunday in both clubs' regular-season finale.
Anna DeForge scored 17 points and had a season-high five steals for the second-seeded Fever, who will open the Eastern Conference playoffs Thursday at Connecticut. Tammy Sutton-Brown added 11 points.
Plenette Pierson and Shannon Johnson both scored 13 points off the bench for the top-seeded Shock, who will begin the playoffs Friday at New York, which won 58-52 over Chicago on Sunday for the final playoff spot in a tiebreaker with Washington.
The Shock, who tied their season-high with 24 turnovers, gave up a 9-2 run early in the fourth as the Fever never trailed thereafter.
