Sacramento, CA - Nicole Powell poured in a game-high 28 points as the Sacramento Monarchs defeated the Washington Mystics, 86-82, in overtime.
Kara Lawson scored 15 points off the bench and Rebekkah Brunson and Adrian Williams each had 12 points for the Monarchs, who trail San Antonio by 1 1/2 games for the second seed in the Western Conference.
Alana Beard scored a team-high 25 points for the Mystics, who had their lead over the New York Liberty for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference trimmed to a half game.
Beard drained a three-pointer with just over five seconds remaining in the extra period to bring Washington within 83-82, but the Mystics couldn't take the lead as Sacramento held on for the win.
