Silver Stars hold off Monarchs

San Antonio, TX - Sophia Young and Shanna Crossley each scored 19 points to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars past the Sacramento Monarchs, 72-61, at AT&T Center.Becky Hammon added 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds for the Silver Stars, who won for the second time in their last five games and now occupy second place in the Western Conference.San Antonio shot 50 percent from the field for the game and won despite committing 15 turnovers.Rebekkah Brunson had 12 points and a game-high 19 rebounds for the Monarchs, who lost for the third time in their last eight games.Yolanda Griffith contributed 15 points and seven boards for Sacramento.© 2007 The Sports Network
