Minneapolis, MN - Seimone Augustus scored 21 points and pulled down five rebounds and Svetlana Abosimova added 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists to propel the Minnesota Lynx to a 95-74 rout of the shorthanded Seattle Storm.
The Lynx used a 43-31 rebounding edge to wear the Storm down early and went into the locker room with a ten-point lead at the half. Seattle also dug itself a hole with poor three-point shooting, going 4-for-17 for the game, including an 0-for-4 night from rookie sharpshooter Katie Geralds.
Minnesota point guard Noelle Quinn made an impact on the game despite not making a single field goal, handing out eight assists and shooting 6-for-8 from the free throw line. For the night, the Lynx dished out 29 assists as a team.
Betty Lennox led Seattle with 16 points and seven rebounds, but was limited to just over 26 minutes because of foul trouble.
For Minnesota, Nicole Ohlde (16 points), Kristen Mann (12), and Eshaya Murphy (11) were also in double figures.
Seattle was without leading scorer Lauren Jackson and starting center Janell Burse, who are not with the team on its current road trip for separate reasons. Jackson, who is averaging 23.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, is in Australia visiting an ill family member. Burse, who is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair damaged ligaments in her left wrist, is listed as day-to- day.
