Seattle, WA - Betty Lennox poured in 25 points and dished out five assists to lead the Seattle Storm past the Phoenix Mercury, 111-101, at Key Arena.
Lauren Jackson scored 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Seattle, which put the brakes on a three-game skid. Iziane Castro Marques chipped in with 22 points, Sue Bird finished with 18 and Katie Gearlds scored 13 off the bench for Seattle.
Diana Taurasi scored a game-high 28 points for Phoenix, which had a six-game winning streak halted but is still locked in a virtual tie with San Antonio for first place in the Western Conference. Cappie Pondexter also donated 24 points, Penny Taylor had 16 and Kelly Miller 15 for the Mercury.
Seattle tied a league record with 40 points in the first quarter, then held Phoenix at bay the rest of the way.
The Storm also broke the team record of 100 points set in a win over Phoenix on May 23.
