Seattle, WA - Nicole Powell scored 28 points as the Sacramento Monarchs held off the Seattle Storm, 78-74, at KeyArena.
Yolanda Griffith added 13 points and Kara Lawson contributed 10 points for Sacramento, which has won three of its last four games.
Lauren Jackson continued her amazing season with 30 points, eight rebounds and seven blocked shots, as the Storm lost their second straight.
Powell's three-pointer moved the Monarchs to a 74-70 lead with a minute left, but Jackson came back with a bucket. Sue Bird then missed a jumper with a chance to tie for the Storm.
Powell drained four free throws over the final 16.8 seconds.
These same teams will meet on Friday at Sacramento.
