Mabika, Sparks knock off slumping Liberty

New York, NY - Mwadi Mabika paced Los Angeles with 19 points and five rebounds as the Sparks downed the New York Liberty, 73-63.
Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 13 points with 13 rebounds for consecutive double-doubles, while Temeka Johnson and Sidney Spencer collected 10 points apiece.
Janel McCarville donated 16 points and Loree Moore recorded 10 for New York, which dropped its season-high seventh straight contest.
The Sparks took control in the second period, reeling off 12 straight points after falling in a nine-point hole, and outscoring the Liberty 27-8 in the quarter to take a 41-31 lead at the half.
