Pierson's three-point play leads Shock to win over LA

Auburn Hills, MI - Plenette Pierson scored a three-point play with 26 seconds remaining in the game as the Detroit Shock defeated the Los Angeles Sparks, 75-73, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Pierson, who finished with a game-high 21 points, was 4-of-9 from the field and 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. Swin Cash chipped in with 16 points and 10 boards, while Katie Smith added 14 points for the Shock, who have won two straight and nine of their last 10.
Detroit will travel to San Antonio for a matchup with the Silver Stars on Tuesday night.
Taj McWilliams-Franklin had a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped three in a row and 10 of its last 11 contests. The Sparks will next face the Liberty in New York on Tuesday.
Detroit outrebounded LA, 40-34.
