Jul 28, 2007, 4:50 GMT
Seattle, WA - Lauren Jackson became the youngest and fastest player in WNBA history to reach 4,000 points as the Seattle Storm beat the Indiana Fever, 89-75, at Key Arena.
Jackson finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds, three nights after a 47-point performance against Washington. She needed just 14 points to become the fifth player in league history to reach the 4,000 point mark, and reached the milestone with 6:13 left in the second quarter when she nailed a baseline jumper.
The fans reacted with a standing ovation, and a video tribute to Jackson was played during the next timeout.
Betty Lennox added 14 and Iziane Castro Marques chipped in with 13 for the Storm, who have won two of their last three games.
Anna DeForge led the Fever with 12 points and Ann Strother donated 11 for Indiana, which has dropped five straight following a six-game winning streak. The club also fell 2 1/2 games behind Detroit for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
